Located in the heart of the Midwest, AFTRA Chicago has a local membership of more than 2,500 in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

AFRA Chicago, chartered in 1938, became AFTRA Chicago in 1958.

The Windy City has a lengthy history in every performance medium. From the halcyon days of network radio drama which lead to radio and television commercial work, Chicago has been home to a great talent pool. Our members work all AFTRA contracts including television, radio, commercials, entertainment, broadcast, industrials and sound recordings. As proud union professionals, many are also members of AFTRA, SAG and AEA.
