AFTRA monitors discriminatory employment practices and works to increase employment opportunities for its diverse pool of members. In addition to incorporating affirmative action clauses into collective bargaining contracts, AFTRA also provides testimony to demonstrate the intentional and unintentional discrimination that exists with respect to hiring, promotion, and professional advancement in the broadcasting industry.
