Statewide Research Programs
As a service to the State of California, the University of California administers three sponsored research programs that target high-priority health issues in California. Funded by state mandates, each program funds an array of grants and initiatives that are open to researchers from all public and private institutions, industrial and nonprofit organizations, and community groups through the state. These programs engage California scientists and community researchers in the investigation of specific diseases, which are responsible for substantial human suffering and staggering financial costs in California.
