AFTRA Congratulates the 31st News and Documentary Emmy Winners

The people who entertain and inform America proudly congratulate all the winners of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ 31st News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

We salute AFTRA member Katie Couric for her multiple honors, including Outstanding Investigative Journalism in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast for “Rape In America: Justice Denied” and Outstanding Business and Economic Reporting in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast for “Financial Family Tree.” We also applaud AFTRA members Bob Dotson also received an award for Outstanding Feature Story in a Regularly Scheduled Newscast for “Fighting Grossmans,” and Dan Rather for Outstanding Business and Economic Reporting in a News Magazine. AFTRA members Charles Gibson, Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulous also received accolades for Outstanding Coverage of a Current News Story – Long Form for their coverage of the 2009 Inauguration of President Obama.

AFTRA programs honored with 2010 News and Documentary Emmys include “Dateline” and “60 Minutes.” The prestigious Chairman’s Award was given to AFTRA members Robert MacNeil and Jim Lehrer for their work on “PBS NewsHour.”
