AFTRA is governed by a National Board responsible for the general policies, direction and management of the union and comprised of approximately 73 members (plus Officers) elected by and from the membership of the Locals. National Board members have a term of four years.

National Board Officers are elected by member-delegates at each biennial Convention for two-year terms. AFTRA’s National President is actor Roberta Reardon (NY).

National Staff work on behalf of members and the general interests of the union, reporting to the National Board.

A variety of National Committees address specific areas of national concern such as EEO, Legislative/Public Affairs, Agent Relations, etc. For a list of committees, click here.
