The Office of Risk Services has engaged an Employment Liability Specialist from Bickmore Risk Services to provide direct support to campus departments and assist with reducing workplace conflict, which is often the source of Employment Practices claims.
Gerry Preciado's Employment Practices Liability session presents the idea of reducing the incidence of EPL claims by creating a work environment that deals with problems proactively and establishes a culture of empowerment and empathy. He emphasizes the need to act if there is a complaint and the ability to change the organization's culture so that claim likelihood is reduced.
