Areas of Responsibility

Capital Markets Finance: is responsible for managing UC's debt portfolio and supports capital-raising activities systemwide. Conducts debt issuances and identifies savings opportunities. Supports programs which enhances UC's liquidity position.

Financial Accounting: conducts systemwide financial reporting and accounting and analyzes performance of investments and endowments. Coordinates payroll and tax services systemwide. Provides sponsored project overhead costing and capital-project financial planning.

Financial Services & Controls: maintains financial controls and banking services. Manages day-to-day cash transactions for the UC system. The Business Resource Center centralizes transaction processing for administrative functions. Also, directs the Connexxus systemwide travel program and the Office of Loan Programs.

Procurement Services: responsible for developing and implementing the overall purchasing policies, strategies and direction for the UC System. Works with campuses to source the highest quality products and services at the least total cost in support of the University's mission. Leverages UC's buying power through strategic and collaborative sourcing, adoption of proven technologies, and supplier performance management.

Risk Services: enables UC faculty, staff and students to identify and manage risks associated with their activities, consistent with the University's missions. Strategically manages risk to reduce the chances of loss, increase financial stability, and protect resources.

Strategic Initiatives: serves as an internal consultancy on a variety of special projects across CFO Division, UC Office of the President, individual campuses, and systemwide. Areas of expertise include financial modeling and analysis, project/program implementations, systemwide initiatives management, and strategic planning/mission-building.
