2012 National Association of Black Journalists
Convention & Career Fair
June 20 - 24
New Orleans, Louisiana
You won't want to miss this year's National Association of Black Journalists’ convention in the Big Easy! NABJ’s 36th Annual Convention and Career Fair is the premier venue for digital journalism education, career development, and the nation’s leaders in media, business, arts & entertainment and technology. AFTRA members and staff will be in attendance providing career information and contract reviews at the AFTRA Career Fair Booth, as an investment in quality journalism and journalists nationwide. "As the industry changes, so do the jobs we do,” explains Bob Butler, AFTRA National Vice President, NABJ Vice President of Broadcast, and KCBS Radio newsperson. “AFTRA and NABJ are a good fit because both organizations are transforming themselves to better serve their members in new media newsrooms." Professional journalists, students and educators will take part in full- and half-day seminars designed to strengthen and enhance their skills. Workshops throughout the five-day convention will highlight journalism ethics, entrepreneurship, specialized journalism and transitioning journalism skills to book publishing, screen writing and media relations.
