Description: Since the mid-90s the Belarusian NGO EcoDom (EcoHome) has been publicizing the idea of permaculture in Belarus including approaches and methods for ecological design, agriculture, and construction. Its primary aim is to create ecosystem constructed and functioning according to principals of nature. In the year 2000 its team of certified trainers began conducting informal seminars in permaculture. Description: Eco Ruralis is an association of farmers that practice organic farming and follow traditional principles of environmental awareness. It was established in April 2009 in Cluj Napoca, bringing together farmers from all over the country. Eco Ruralis fights for the right of farmers to practice agriculture on a small, non-industrial scale.This includes the right to use, multiply, and distribute traditional seeds and the strict regulation of biosecurity (GMOs); the organization supports food sovereignty in Romania and consumer health. Its vision is an equitable and ecologically sustainable society where peasants are at the heart of the food system. Its mission is to support and promote agroecological small-scale family farming as the ideal mode of agriculture in Romania. Its activities include educational programs for the public, participatory research programs in the field of traditional seeds in partnership with universities, and advocacy for the right of farmers to use traditional seeds and against the authorization of new GMOs.

Description: In July 2005 a group of local farmers and residents set up the Kumitat għall-Ħarsien Rurali ta’ Għajn Tuffieħa (Committee for the Safeguard of Rural Life in Għajn Tuffieħa) with the aim of safeguarding the environment of Manikata and Għajn Tuffieħa from various so-called development projects. On the 24th of August 2007 the committee was dissolved and the same members set up the Koperattiva Rurali Manikata (KRM) Ltd. Their general aim was to put forward projects that would help to safeguard the natural, historical, social and economic environment and enable the general public to appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings as well as agricultural life in Manikata. In March 2008 the Ministry for Rural Affairs and the Environment signed a management agreement with Koperattiva Rurali Manikata whereby KRM Ltd. will gradually restore the place called Ir- Razzett tal- Qasam. It is being converted into a services center for the members of the cooperative as well as for students, families and tourists who visit our fields. Today the cooperative is working on four projects: management of the Rural Heritage Trail; restoration of the Razzett tal-Qasam; restoration of the Armoury; and the promotion of local produce and typical food.
