Description: The Sustainable Sanitation and Water Renewal System (SSWARS) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization registered in 2005 and operating in Uganda. SSWARS’s mission is to help advance the Millennium Development Goals by improving targeted communities’ standard of living through the implementation of improved sanitation practices and water supply systems. This integrated approach helps reduce the spread of waterborne diseases and illnesses that are preventable with better hygienic practices. Projects based in Uganda include constructing a Community Sanitation Center, sustainable water supply systems, and latrines in Kampala.
