Description: The Kyiv Cyclists’ Association (AVK) is a non-profit, non-partisan member organization that works to strengthen the voice of current and potential cyclists and to promote cycling as a sustainable, safe, and fun mode of urban transportation. AVK works mostly in Kyiv but actively cooperates with NGOs, cycling activists, and city councils in other Ukrainian cities, as well as cycling advocates in wider Europe. Its main areas of work are: advocacy in Kyiv (regarding street reconstructions, maintenance of existing cycling infrastructure, development of cycling plans for Kyiv districts, ect); advocacy at the national level (revision of cycling-related legislation, capacity-building in city councils and local NGOs on cycling, sharing knowledge and best practices for infrastructure development and promotion of cycling); building public enthusiasm for urban cycling (Bike Mentor Program, annual cycling-friendly employer award, bicycle rides and events in Kyiv and other cities).

Description: The Crimean Republic Association "Ekologiya I Mir" (CRAEM) is a non-governmental environmental organization founded in 1988, to stop the building of a nuclear power plant in Crimea. Since then, Ekologiya I Mir has acted as an independent non- governmental organization uniting people in all sectors of society, with than two hundred activists involved. The organization aims to protect Crimean nature and the health of its inhabitants. . CRAEM's major concerns are: urban areas with excess garbage; environmental ignorance and inactivity of the population concerning its rights; food quality; irrational territory planning; domination of 'traditional' types of energy; and high levels of chlorine in drinking water. Its activities include: the collection and dissemination of ecological information (holding seminars, conferences, working with mass-media); ecological action; ecological education; organization of scientific research and public participation in environmental impact assessment; study and conservation of nature preserves and rare Crimean animals and plants; planning and realization of Crimean sustainable development goals; support of Crimean NGOs.

Description: In 1990 a group of young mothers with university education were concerned about the effects of the Chernobyl disaster on public health and united to protect the interests of their children. Since 1991 the group has been known as Kiev City NGO MAMA-86 Kyiv. Today the organization consists of 17 regional centers in Kyiv, Kyiv region, Donetsk region Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Lutsk, Mykolayiv, beautiful ancient city of Chernihiv Region, New Kahovka Kherson region, Poltava, Sumy, Sumy, Tatarbunary Odessa region, Ternopil, Feodosia, Kharkov, Khmelnitsky and Yaremcha Ivano- Frankivsk region. The central office is located in the city of Kyiv. The purpose of MAMA-86 is to promote greening policies and practices in Ukraine in order to transition the country to sustainable development - that is, development that does not harm current generations and leaves a positive legacy. The mission of our organization is strengthening the role of mothers in education and society in the process of decision-making to improve the living standards of citizens.

Description: Ukrainian Youth Climate Association (UMKA) implements projects to unleash the potential of young activists as community leaders, "green" professionals, and future officials. In the fall of 2012 UMKA partners enlisted the support of more than 500 people from all over Ukraine. UMKA initiated independent teams in Kiev, Lviv, and Rivne that together and separately implemented more than 20 practical projects and campaigns on climate change. Ukrainian Youth Climate Association is a dynamic platform for development and interaction of sustainability change agents. We facilitate multi-stakeholder cooperation on pressing environmental issues and create opportunities for youth from across the country to kick-start their own sustainability projects. Working with like-minded partners we learn and share best practices to create a better Ukraine. Our aim for 2015 is create a critical mass of youth to tackle global environmental change and strengthen the social-ecological relationship. Our focus is transforming local economies into sustainable communities.
