Description: The African Union of Conservationists (AUC) promotes contemporary environmental conservation activities and facilitates joint work wbetween local, national, and international organisations. CBOs, CSOs, local authorities and governments are among its members. AUC was established to involve as many conservationists in Africa as possible to champion environmental conservation and developmental integration. The Union provides an essential framework and direction for Africa to arrest its current environmental changes and challenges. It helps governments, communities, groups, and individuals improve their environmental management systems for conservation; coordinates conservation activities in a systematic manner; communicates important information emerging from the conservation and development sectors; and acts as a multi-sectorial body with committees that drive conservation.

Description: The All-Ukrainian Ecological League (VEL) is an NGO, founded on December 12, 1997. Its purposes are are: to improve the environmental situation in Ukraine through the formation of a new environmental philosophy and environmental rights; to create a foundation for sustainable development in Ukraine; to build a civil society in Ukraine, based on universal values and principles of environmental ethics; to protect - Building of civil society in Ukraine, based on universal values and principles of environmental ethics. The main objectives of VEL are: to expand public participation in national environmental policy and submit proposals for the improvement of environmental legislation; to influence national and local plans, budgets, and development programs that are crucial for environmental stabilization and improvement; to provide protection and restoration of the environment, biodiversity, and health of the citizens of Ukraine; to promote the integration of the environmental component in all sectors of public life and the economy; to organize public control over the implementation of environmental legislation; to carry out measures aimed at curbing the activities that threaten environmental security, biodiversity and health of the citizens of Ukrainee; to promote environmental awareness through the promotion of knowledge of the environment, improvement of environmental education and culture; to facilitate the development and introduction of energy-saving technologies in all sectors of economic activity.

Description: In the early spring of 2002 ten Estonian environmental NGOs founded the Estonian Council of Environmental NGOs (EKO). Today nine non-governmental environmental organisations belong to the council and two organisations plan on joining. EKO is an informal politically independent cooperation network that helps environmental activists jointly achieve the environmental protection goals that are important for all of us. Until now EKO members have made joint efforts mainly to make Estonian forestry, agriculture, and energy policies, and planning decisions more environmentally friendly.
