Description: EcoClub "Eremurus" was created in 1982 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Its goal is to educate individuals and society about sustainable development. Its main activities are environmental education and promotion of environmental awareness and the protection of nature. In terms of education, the group runs and provides support to ecological Sunday schools and summer camps; teacher trainings; newsletters; and festivals and competitions. It also supports work in national parks and nature preserves, such as tree planting, animal surveys, geobotanic mapping, clean-up campaigns, and raids for the protection of rare or endangered species. The group's research initiatives include the observation of animals and plants - size, condition, etc. EcoClub "Eremurus" has participated in the international education project SPARE in Uzbekistan since 2000 and in Ukraine since 2001.
