Description: The Bulgarian Biodiversity Fund (BSE) brings together people with different ideas for the protection of Bulgarian nature. Its missions is to help conserve natural resources, to work toward changing attitudes toward protected areas and protected species, and to increase public awareness about these natural resources. The organization actively participates in the changing of environmental legislation; initiates national campaigns to support Bulgarian nature; creates mechanisms for public participation in the management of protected areas; presents opportunities for the development of sustainable business; involves local people in specific activities for nature conservation; creates a link between conservation and science; spreads information about biodiversity and its social, ethical, cultural, and economic implications; expands the circle of supporters for a common cause.
