     Here in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, 
ERS does really play an important role in helping
us track all the different commodities across the country. 
Our markets are fragmented; our distribution 
systems are always changing so it’s been a real 
plus to have ERS working with us on all the analysis of our industry. 

     One of the things that ERS is really working on 
now is the growth of locally grown. For the fresh 
produce industry that is a real important deal for us. 
We need to understand the dynamics of those markets 
what’s going on. Just this year ERS has done a new 
report on locally grown that I found really helpful 
and I hope that they’re going to continue that work for us.
