Annual Acceptance of the UCOP User Agreement - Sept. 2

Starting Tuesday,` September 2, all UCOP employees will be asked to renew their acceptance of the UCOP User Agreement for Electronic Information Resources. The User Agreement was first issued last year and is reissued electronically on an annual basis.

Acceptance Process
Employees will receive the agreement when they turn on their computer for the first time on or after September 2, and must accept this annual notification before they can proceed to their desktop. To accept, they must

  1. read the agreement, scrolling to the end, and
  2. click the “accept” button at the bottom.

Updated Agreement
The agreement has been revised slightly since last year for clarification, and two examples of misuse of electronic information resources have been added. These are

Purpose of the Agreement
The purpose of the agreement is to educate employees about UC policy as well as their responsibility to protect sensitive data. It supports compliance with the Electronic Communications Policy and implementation of the UCOP information security initiative.
