Starting June 4, IR&C; will issue a user agreement (http://www.ucop.edu/useragreement/) that must be accepted by anyone who uses UCOP computers, e-mail, phones and voicemail, databases, computer systems, or other “electronic information resources.”
Please note: You must “accept” the agreement electronically one time on or after June 4 (and annually thereafter) or you will not be able to log onto your computer. See below for more details.
Implementation
UCOP will implement the agreement two ways: electronically and through the hiring process.
Purpose
The purpose of the agreement is to educate our users about UC policy and to make sure they are aware of their responsibility to protect sensitive data and secure resources. The agreement was developed in coordination with UCOP HR and the Office of the General Counsel, and was modeled after campus acceptable use policies. It supports implementation of the Electronic
Communications Policy and the UCOP
information security initiative.
If you have questions about the agreement, please contact Jacqueline Craig (987-0409) or Yvonne Tevis (987-0638) in my office.
