You can see an overview of your day’s appointments, tasks, and messages by opening Outlook Today, a single page summary of several folders. To access Outlook Today, open your Mail folder and click on the top-level folder next to this icon — — in the left hand navigation pane. Generally, the folder is called Mailbox – , as in the highlighted example below.

The default Outlook Today page displays five calendar days of meetings; tells you how many unread messages you have; and lists all active tasks. The information displayed is active and linked, and clicking on an appointment, task, or folder opens that item. You also can check off completed tasks.

You may customize the appearance of Outlook Today, as well as make it your Outlook opening page. To do so, click on the “Customize Outlook Today” button in the upper right hand corner and select among several options.

If you have questions about this tip or any other Outlook feature, please contact the IR&C; TechDesk at 987-0457 or TechDesk@ucop.edu.
