Outlook Tip of the Month: Desktop Alerts

October 4, 2007

To: UCOP Community:
From: Tara Brant, Manager, IR&C Technology Service Desk

A Desktop Alert is the blue rectangle that appears on your screen every time a new e-mail message arrives. Some people find it very useful; others think it’s annoying.

You can change how it’s displayed--how long it remains on the screen and how transparent it is. You can adjust where it appears on the screen location; simply drag the alert to another position. And you can turn it off entirely, if you want.
