Brief E-mail Server Outage This Morning (August 8, 2011)

Our e-mail servers are currently experiencing a delay when processing e-mail external to UCOP. To resolve this problem, the TechDesk will restart the servers at 11:00 this morning. At that time a disconnect popup may appear at the bottom of your Outlook screen, indicating that Outlook has disconnected from the server. The outage should last about 10 minutes. Afterwards, most customers will get reconnected to Outlook automatically. However, if the disconnect popup remains on your screen for longer than ten minutes, please restart Outlook. The outage can also affect iPad, iPhone, and Blackberry e-mail connections.

If you experience any problems or are unable to successfully reconnect to Outlook, please contact the Technology Service Desk at 987-0457.
