New Look for OWA

February 1, 2011

OWA is getting a makeover. On Friday, February 4, between 10 and 11 p.m., IR&C will migrate to a new version of OWA, the online version of Outlook. There will be a brief e-mail outage during this time but e-mail distribution will resume immediately thereafter.

The new version of OWA looks more like the Outlook you use at work. The login will be slightly different but if you have been using OWA all along, you do not need to make any changes to access it.

If you have not been using OWA, information about getting started with OWA is available on the Web. OWA does not offer all the functionality of Outlook. Still, it is a convenient way to check e-mail and do work away from the office. With OWA, you can use any Internet connection to read and send e-mail, organize contacts, create tasks, and manage your calendar. The key difference is you do not have access from non work computers to the e-mail you have moved into Outlook Personal Folders (or pst files).
