New MS Vulnerability

Microsoft announced on December 30, 2005, a new security vulnerability in its Windows operating environment. Because of this threat, IR&C would like to remind you to exercise caution when opening e-mail and to not open suspicious messages from unidentified sources. These could contain malicious links or attachments that may exploit the Microsoft security vulnerability.

Microsoft has not yet issued a patch for this particular vulnerability. As soon as the patch becomes available, IR&C and departmental PC coordinators will work to ensure it is installed.
