UCOP Labor Relations has been informed by the University Professional and Technical employees union (UPTE) that the union intends to go out on strike Thursday, September 24th. If the union goes forward with its plans, the strike may impact staffing levels for the TechDesk, which provides desktop computing services and is the interface to other IR&C technology services. On the day of the strike, we ask that UCOP staff report only critical situations to the TechDesk. Examples include
If your computer is functioning and you can work; or if you have a temporary solution, such as using OWA for e-mail access, please delay reporting problems or making service requests until the following day when the strike has concluded. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance.
