We are experiencing problems with the telephone system in the Kaiser
building. I have discussed the problems with Kaiser management and
learned that their facilities team has been removing unused wire and
cable from all voice and data communications closets.
This work has adversely impacted UC's communications infrastructure,
resulting in static during phone conversations and dropped calls.
It also caused a loss of Internet connectivity in the Treasurer's
office at 1111 Broadway earlier this week. I am working with Kaiser
management to rectify this situation and will provide you with an
update next week.
