IR&C; is pleased to announce the activation of a secondary storage system for email, effective May 21, 2007. The new storage system, Enterprise Vault (EV), works in conjunction with the UCOP Exchange E-mail system to effectively increase your mailbox to 1GB of total storage. Keep in mind that all messages in your Inbox, as well as all sent or deleted items, calendar entries, and contacts count towards the total stored. Eventually, you could reach your 1 GB limit!
Will anything look different?
When the new storage system is implemented, some of your messages will likely be denoted by this icon: The icon indicates messages that have been moved to the secondary storage system (Enterprise Vault). Outlook e-mail messages and calendar appointments, including attachments, that meet certain criteria will be automatically moved to the vault. These items must be
Except for the icon, you will not notice anything different when e-mail is stored in the vault. Stored calendar items are not denoted by an icon and will look the same as unstored items.
How does this affect reading
and sending e-mail?
You can easily search for, view, forward, print, and delete items that have been moved to the Enterprise Vault.
