Network Problems

Many UCOP customers experienced network connectivity problems on Tuesday morning, October 7. These problems were the direct result of a "denial of service" attack on our UCOP network. In this type of attack, our network is presented with more external connection requests than it can handle, resulting in loss of service for both internal and external customers. IR&C; resolved the problem promptly and normal network service was restored by 10:30 a.m. the same morning. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this network outage.
