Issues Management Policy Analysis and Coordination (IMPAC)

IMPAC is responsible for managing and coordinating the University's position development for state and federal legislation; developing content and synthesizing institutional responses to state and federal legislative, gubernatorial, and other official requests; as well as providing policy analysis and research to further high-priority Presidential and other initiatives consistent with UC's policy agenda.

State and Federal Legislation
Working closely with the UC State and Federal Governmental Relations offices, IMPAC is responsible for the coordination, analysis, and position development of state and federal legislation for the Academic Affairs, Business Operations, and Agriculture and Natural Resources divisions. In addition to working with leadership within these divisions, IMPAC collaborates with the General Counsel's office, the Secretary and Chief of Staff to The Regents, the Academic Senate, and campuses as needed.

Policy Initiatives and Projects
IMPAC provides support to the President and senior leaders on high-priority policy initiatives and projects by synthesizing and articulating responses and positions on issues that do not fall into a single divisional responsibility area and require cross-divisional collaboration and consensus-building.
