The SAGE Project will focus on two subject areas: the personal and professional life of former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn and selections from several human rights collections. At the Projects conclusion, thousands of pages of text will be available online in addition to photographs, political cartoons, audio and video. Innovative aspects of the Project include a) developing a technical model for digital archives infrastructures which can be easily replicated by other libraries interested in similar projects and b) producing a searchable digital transcription of selected video and audio recordings using digital speech processing software to provide keyword access to the audiovisual database.
